Operating this unit Section 03 Operating this unit Using the equalizer The equalizer lets you adjust the equalization to match car interior acoustic characteristics as desired. ! You can adjust the center frequency and the Q factor (curve characteristics) of each currently selected curve band (LOW/MID/ HIGH). Recalling equalizer curves There are six stored equalizer curves which you can easily recall at any time. Here is a list of the equalizer curves: Display Equalizer curve POWERFUL Powerful NATURAL Natural VOCAL Vocal CUSTOM Custom FLAT Flat SUPER BASS Super bass ! CUSTOM is an adjusted equalizer curve that you create. ! A separate CUSTOM curve can be created for each source. If you make adjustments, the equalizer curve settings will be memorized in CUSTOM. ! When FLAT is selected no supplement or correction is made to the sound. This is useful to check the effect of the equalizer curves by switching alternatively between FLAT and a set equalizer curve. % Press EQ to select the equalizer. Press EQ repeatedly to switch between the following equalizers: POWERFUL-NATURAL-VOCAL-CUSTOM -FLAT-SUPER BASS Adjusting equalizer curves You can adjust the currently selected equalizer curve setting as desired. Adjusted equalizer curve settings are memorized in CUSTOM. Level (dB) Center frequency Q=2N Q=2W Frequency (Hz) 1 Touch EQ MENU on the audio function menu. 2 Touch a or b to select the desired item. Each time you touch a or b selects the item in the following order: BAND (bands)-LEVEL (equalizer level)- FREQUENCY (center frequency)-Q. FACTOR (Q factor) 3 Touch c or d to select the equalizer band to adjust. Each time you touch c or d selects equalizer bands in the following order: LOW (low)-MID (mid)-HIGH (high) 4 Touch b and then touch c or d to adjust the level of the equalizer band. Each time you touch c or d increases or decreases the level of the equalization band. +6 to -6 is displayed as the level is increased or decreased. 5 Touch b and then touch c or d to select the desired frequency. Touch c or d until the desired frequency appears in the display. Low: 40Hz-80Hz-100Hz-160Hz Mid: 200Hz-500Hz-1kHz-2kHz High: 3.15kHz-8kHz-10kHz-12.5kHz En 31
