Appendix Additional Information Understanding built-in CD player error messages When problems occur during CD play an error message may appear on the display. If an error message appears on the display refer to the table below to see what the problem is and the suggested method of correcting the problem. If the error cannot be corrected, contact your dealer or your nearest Pioneer Service Center. Message Cause Action CD ERR- Dirty disc 11, 12, 17, 30 Clean disc. CD ERR- Scratched disc Replace disc. 11, 12, 17, 30 CD ERR-14 Blank disc Check the disc. CD ERR- Electrical or me- 10, 11, 12, 14, chanical 17, 30, A0 Turn the ignition ON and OFF, or switch to a different source, then back to the CD player. CD ERR-44 All tracks are skip Replace disc. tracks HEAT CD player overheated Turn off the CD player until the CD player cools down. Cassette tapes ! A loose, torn or warped label on a cassette tape can jam the cassette player. Do not use cassette tapes with loose, torn or warped labels. ! Cassette tapes longer than C-90 (90-minute tapes) can cause the tape to jam in the cassette player. Do not use tapes longer than C90. ! Cassette tapes exposed to high temperatures may warp and jam the cassette player. Keep cassettes out of direct sunlight or places where there are high temperatures. ! Store unused tapes in a tape case where there is no danger of them becoming loose, dirty or dusty. Cleaning the playback head If the head becomes dirty, the sound quality will get bad and there will be sound dropouts and other problems. If you have any of these problems the head may need cleaning. Music search and repeat functions during tape playback Music search and repeat functions may not work with these tapes: ! A tape with a gap of 4 seconds or less be- tween songs ! message may appear on the display. If an error
message appears on the display refer to the ta-
ble below to see what the problem is and the
suggested method of correcting the problem.
If the error cannot be corrected, contact your
dealer or your nearest Pioneer Service Center.

tape can jam the cassette player. Do not use
cassette tapes with loose, torn or warped la-
bels.

tapes) can cause the tape to jam in the cas-
sette player. Do not use tapes longer than C-
90.
!
Cassette tapes exposed to high temperatures
