6 Finalizing and Erasing COMPACT DISC RECORDER / MULTI-CD CHANGER ◊ÛB¿ˆ≤≥ 3 - COMPACT DISC MULTI CHANGER COMPACT DISC DIGITAL RECORDER ERASE 4 1 ¡ ¢ ¶ REC VOL 6 7 PUSH ENTER CD TEXT Hi-bitLegatoLinkConversion When a finalized disc is loaded: 1 Press ERASE. 2 Use the jog dial (or press 41 or ¡¢) to change the erase option. Switch between: • Erase the TOC ('de-finalize' the disc so that further recording is possible) ERASE TOC ? CD-RW FINALIZE Be careful: When you erase the TOC, the CD text information for the disc is also copied to memory for editing purposes, erasing the oldest text information stored (as explained on page 30). • Erase all tracks ERASE ALL ? CD-RW FINALIZE • Press 7 to cancel erase here. Re-initializing a disc 1 Press and hold ERASE for about four seconds. The display indicates initialize mode. INITIALIZE ? CD-RW • Press 7 to cancel initialize here. 2 Press 6 (CD-R side). The process takes about half the length of the disc. The display shows the time left to completion. • You can halt this erase process by holding down the 7 button for 10 seconds. Make sure, however, that you erase the disc completely at a later date since you can't use a partially erased disc. 3 Eject the disc. You must eject, then re-insert the disc if you want to record any new tracks. 3 Press 6 (CD-R side). The display shows the time remaining to completion. • You can halt this erase process by holding down the 7 button for 10 seconds. Make sure, however, that you erase the disc completely at a later date since you can't use a partially erased disc. 4 Eject the disc. You must eject, then re-insert the disc if you want to record any new tracks. 32
