Understanding display messages Below is a list of messages you'll see during normal operation with a brief explanation of what they mean. If you need more information, turn to the page indicated. 9 Additional Information Message OPEN CLOSE Description The disc tray is open. The disc tray is closing. TOC READ SYNC-1 SYNC-ALL MONITOR The recorder is reading the disc' s TOC (Table of Contents). Wait for the message to disappear. The unit is in 1-track synchro recording mode. Recording starts when the recorder detects a source input signal. The unit is in all-track synchro recording mode. Recording starts when the recorder detects a source input signal. The recorder displays the source it is monitoring (CD, MD, DAT DVD, or DCC) during record setup. The recorder is writing TOC data to the disc' s PMA (Program Memory Area). Never turn off the power while this display is showing. Confirm that you want to set a skip ID by pressing the SKIP SET button. Confirm that you want to clear a skip ID by pressing the SKIP CLEAR button. Confirm that you want to erase the TOC of a finalized CD-RW disc to return it to a non-finalized state. After doing this, you can record more material on the disc. Confirm that you want to erase all tracks recorded on a CD-RW disc by pressing 6.
