SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS TO REPLACE MOWER DRIVE BELT (See FIGS. 28 and 29) The mower drive belt may be replaced without tools. Park the tractor on level surface. Engage parking brake. For assistance, there is a belt installation guide decal on the mower housing. BELT REMOVAL - • Place attachment clutch in "DISENGAGED" position. • Turn height adjustment knob to lowest setting. • Move attachment lift lever forward to iower mower to its lowest position. • Roll belt off electric clutch pulley (See FIG. 22). ATTACHMEN (-L CLUTCH "DISENGAGE POSITION ATTACHMENT CLUTCH "ENGAGED" POSITION TO ADJUST BRAKE (See FIG. 30) Your unit is equipped with an adjustable brake system which is mounted on the right side of the transaxle. If unit requires more than six (6) feet stopping distance at high speed in highest gear, then brake must be adjusted. • Depress clutch/brake pedal and engage parking brake. • Measure distance between brake operating arm and nut "A" on brake rod. • If distance is other than 1-1/2", disengage parking brake, loosen jam nut and turn nut "A" until distance becomes 1-1/2". Retighten jam nut against nut "A". • Engage parking brake and recheck distance. • Road test unit for proper stopping distance as stated above. Readjust if necessary. If stopping distance is still greater than six (6) feet in highest gear, further maintenance is necessary. Contact your nearest authorized service center. BELT INSTALLATION - • Place belt around mower pulley and both idler pulleys. • Roll belt over electric clutch pulley. • Make sure belt is in all pulley grooves and inside all belt guides. ($t) L.H. IDLER PULLEY MOWER DRIVE BELT FIG. 30 TO REPLACE MOWER BLADE DRIVE BELT (See FIGS. 29 & 31) • Remove mower (See "TO REMOVE MOWER" in this section of this manual). • Pull mower drive belt off mower pulley and both idler pulleys. • Pull mower blade drive belt towards rear of mower at tensioning pulley. Place a block between tensioning pulley and mower lift bracket. Roll belt off tensioning pulley. • Roll belt off ail other pulleys. • Slide belt from under poring. • To install belt, reverse above procedure. Make sure belt is engaged in all pulleys. mower

belt

Park

brake.

Your
unit
is

system
which
is
mounted
on
the
right
side
of
the
transaxle.
If
unit
requires
more
than
six
(6)
feet
stopping
distance
at

gear,
then
brake
must
be
adjusted.
Depress
clutch/brake
pedal
and
engage
parking
brake.
Measure
distance
between
brake
operating
arm
and
nut
"A"
on
brake
rod.
If
distance
is
other
than
1-1/2",
disengage
parking
brake,
loosen
jam
nut
and
turn
nut
"A"
until
distance
becomes
1-1/2".
Retighten
jam
nut
against
nut
"A".
Engage
parking
brake
and
recheck
distance.
Road
test
unit
for
proper

above.
Readjust
if
necessary.
If
stopping
distance
is
still
greater
than

further

nance

off

Pull
mower
blade
drive
belt
towards
rear
of
mower
at
ten-
sioning
pulley.
Place
a
block
between
tensioning
pulley
and
mower
lift
bracket.
Roll
belt
off
tensioning
pulley.
Roll
belt
off
ail
other
pulleys.
Slide
belt
from
under
poring.
To
install
belt,
reverse
above
procedure.
Make
sure
belt
is
engaged
in
all
pulleys.
