CARING FOR YOUR WATER HEATER WaterHeaterInspections VentingSystem (DirectVentOnly) The ventingsystemshouldbeinspectedperiodicallyto ensurealloftheventsectionsaresecureandairtight. Qualifiedservicepersonnelarefamiliarwithvent systeminspections. WARNING:Donotoperatethewater heateriftheventsystemshowssignsofleaking exhaust.Leakingexhaustcouldleadtodeath, personalinjury,and/orproductfailure. CondensateCollector CAUTIONS: •Condensateisknowntobeacidic;refertofederal, state(provincial),andlocalcodesforproper handlinganddischargemethods. •Donotoperatewithoutthecondensatecollector drainconnectedandroutedtoaproperdrainthat canhandlecorrosivecondensate.Thiscouldcause thesystemtomalfunctionorfail. Outdoormodels Care Instructions Foroutdoormodels,checktheairintakeandvent outletforblockageand/ordebris. Condensate Drain Onaregularbasis,inspectthecondensatedrainline toensurethecondensateisdrainingproperly. Thecondensatecomingfromthewaterheaterisknown tobeacidic.Theheaterfeaturesabuilt-incondensate neutralizerthatusesCaCO3(calciumcarbonate)inrock formasamedium. DANGER:ShockHazard-Makesurethe electricalpowertothewaterheaterisoffbefore removingprotectivecover.Electricshockwillcause deathorseriouspersonalinjury. Periodicallycheckthemediumvisuallytoensure thatitisnotdepletedandrefillaccordingly.Itis recommendedthatyoucontactaqualifiedservice techniciantoperformthework. 15
