Quick Guide Using the Zoom Function Pressing the Z (Wide-angle) button allows you to take a wide-angle picture. Pressing the z (Telephoto) button allows you to take a close-up picture of the subject. Wide-angle Telephoto 1. With the camera ready to shoot, press the Z (Wide-angle) button or the z (Telephoto) button. You can check the zoom status on the zoom bar of the LCD monitor. 2. Compose your picture and half- press the shutter release button. 3. Full-press the shutter release button. Note Using the Digital Zoom Digital zooming enables you to enlarge the subject more than the maximum magnification of the optical zoom (×7.1) specified by pressing the z (Telephoto) button (up to ×3.6). For digital zooming, release the z button once when the zoom reaches the limit on the z (Telephoto) end on the Zoom Bar, and then hold the z button down again. 35
