Getting started Turning the device on and off When turning on the device for the first time, follow the on-screen instructions to set up your device. Press the Power button to turn on the device. • Follow all posted warnings and directions from authorised personnel in areas where the use of wireless devices is restricted, such as aeroplanes and hospitals. • Flick from the right edge of the screen towards the middle of the screen to use the charms, tap Settings → Change PC settings → Wireless, and then drag the Flight mode switch to the right to disable the wireless features. To turn off the device, flick from the right edge of the screen towards the middle of the screen to use the charms, and then tap Settings → Power → Shut down. 12

Turning the device on and off
When turning on the device for the first time, follow the on-screen instructions to set up your
device.
Press the Power button to turn on the device.
