Settings General Change the general settings for the operating system. Time View the current time and date, change the time zone, or set the device to apply summer time automatically. App switching • Allow switching between recent apps: Set the device to open a list of recent applications when you flick from the left edge of the screen towards the middle of the screen. • When I swipe in from the left edge, switch to my most recent app: Set the device to switch to the applications you used last when you flick inward from the left edge of the screen and then back again. You can delete the history of recent applications by tapping Delete history. Touch keyboard • Show text suggestions as I type: Set the device to predict words according to input and display word suggestions. • Add a space after I choose a text suggestion: Set the device to insert a space after you select a word from the suggestions list. • Add a full stop after I double-tap the Spacebar: Set the device to insert a full stop when you double-tap the space bar. • Capitalise the first letter of each sentence: Set the device to automatically capitalise the first character after a final punctuation mark, such as full stop, question mark, or exclamation mark. • Use all uppercase letters when I double-tap Shift key: Set to switch to caps lock mode when you double-tap the shift key. 51
