Common Windows Problems Problem "File in Use" message appears during installation. "General Protection Fault", "Exception OE", "Spool32", or "Illegal Operation" messages appear. Possible Cause and Solution Exit all software applications. Remove all software from the StartUp Group, then restart Windows. Reinstall the printer software. Close all other applications, reboot Windows, and try printing again. Note: Refer to Microsoft Windows 98, Me, 2000 or XP User's Guide that came with your PC for further information on Windows error messages. Common Macintosh Problems Problem There is described "driver not installed" at Product List Window after you click Add and Select USB. Your product not listed at Product List Window after you click Add and Select USB. Possible Cause and Solution • Software is not installed correctly. Reinstall the software. See Software User's Guide. • Make sure that you are using a high-quality cable. • Make sure that the cables are connected correctly and the printer is turned on. • Make sure that the correct printer driver has been selected at Product List Window after you click Add and Select USB. 5.18 SOLVING PROBLEMS
