TRANSMISSION USING F-CODES ENTERING A SUB-ADDRESS AND PASSCODE FOR A MEMORY BOX IN THE OTHER MACHINE When transmitting to a memory box in another fax machine, the sub-address and passcode must be entered after the other machine's fax number. Enter the other machine's fax number as explained for a normal transmission (p.12) or for a polling operation (p.33), and then enter the sub-address and passcode as follows: 1 Dial the fax number of the other machine, or touch a rapid key. If the condition settings screen appears, touch P the [ADDRESS BOOK] CORPO. TPS key to display the HARP CORPORATION ACC.#-C SHARP GROUP address book screen. (p.8) If the sub-address and passcode have been programmed into the rapid key, the following steps are not needed. 2 Touch the [SUB ADDRESS] key. CONDITION SETTINGS SUB ADDRESS ADDRESS REVIEW A slash "/" appears at the end of the fax number. If you make a mistake, press the [CLEAR] key ( ) to clear the mistake. 3 Use the numeric keys to enter the sub-address of the other machine's memory box (max. 20 digits) If you make a mistake, press the [CLEAR] key ( ) and re-enter the correct digit(s). ACC.#-C 4 Touch the [SUB ADDRESS] key once again. A slash "/" appears at the end of the sub-address. 5 Use the numeric keys to enter the passcode of the other machine's memory box (max. 20 digits) 4 If a passcode has not been established for the other box, this step is not necessary. Note • You can program a sub-address and passcode into a rapid dial key along with the fax number. (p.67) • Manual transmission (p.61) using a sub-address and passcode is not possible. CREATING A MEMORY BOX FOR F-CODE TRANSMISSION F-code operations that use memory boxes include F-code polling memory (p.54), F-code confidential transmission (p.57), and F-code relay broadcast (p.59). Memory boxes must be created to perform any of these operations. A memory box can be created using the key operator programs. Memory boxes are created in the key operator programs. Up to 10 boxes for each operation type can be created. The method of creating up the box varies depending on the operation. To create, edit, or delete a memory box, see "F-CODE MEMORY BOX" on page 103. After you have created a box, be sure to inform the other party of the sub-address and passcode. Note If you attempt to create a memory box when 10 memory boxes have already been created for that operation type, a message will appear to inform you that no more boxes can be created. Delete any unneeded memory boxes and then create the new box. 53
