Audio Settings and Operations Dynamic Volume You can adjust the Dynamic Volume level. 1 Press DYNAMIC VOL once. • The current Dynamic Volume level is displayed. 2 Press a/b within 3 seconds to adjust the desired mode as the below indicated. OFF MEDIUM HEAVY LIGHT • The switched Dynamic Volume level is displayed on the TV screen for approximately 3 seconds. Off Off Medium Heavy Light MEDIUM: Dynamic Volume is set to a moderate level. Recommended for listening to movies with volume variations. HEAVY: Dynamic Volume is set to a heavier level. Recommended for late-night listening when high volume is not required. (When the sound mode is set to "NIGHT", the Dynamic Volume level is set to "HEAVY" automatically.) LIGHT: Dynamic Volume is set to a lighter level. NOTE • When the "Dynamic Range Control" function (page 69) is effective in DISC function, the "Dynamic Volume" function is ineffective. Dynamic EQ You can adjust the Dynamic EQ offset level. 1 Press DYNAMIC VOL twice continuously. • The current Dynamic EQ offset level is displayed. 2 Press a/b within 3 seconds to adjust the desired offset as the below indicated. 0 dB 5 dB 10 dB 15 dB 0 dB (Film Ref): This is the default setting and should be used when listening to movies. 5 dB: Select this setting for content that has a very wide dynamic range, such as classical music. 10 dB: Select this setting for jazz or other music that has a wider dynamic range. This setting should also be selected for TV content as that is usually mixed at 10 dB below film reference. 15 dB: Select this setting for pop/rock music or other program material that is mixed at very high listening levels and has a compressed dynamic range. Fine-tuning the subwoofer level The subwoofer level can be adjusted. 1 Press SUB WOOFER. • The current subwoofer level is displayed on the front display panel. 2 Press a/b within 3 seconds to adjust the desired level. • Adjust the level from -5 to +5. Fine-tuning the center speaker level The center speaker level can be adjusted. 1 Press CENTER LEVEL. • The current center speaker level is displayed on the front display panel. 2 Press a/b within 3 seconds to adjust the desired level. • Adjust the level from -5 to +5. 66
