Supplied AM loop aerial Connect the AM loop aerial wire to the AM ANTENNA socket. Position the AM loop aerial for optimum reception. Place the AM loop aerial on a shelf, etc., or attach it to a stand or a wall with screws (not supplied). Notes: q Do not place the aerial on the main unit as it may result in noise pickup from the internal digital electronics. Place the aerial away from the unit for better reception. q If the AM loop aerial and the FM aerial wire are placed near the AC power lead, interference may result. External FM aerial Use an external FM aerial if you require better reception. Consult your dealer. Connect each speaker wire to the SPEAKER terminals as shown. Use speakers with an impedance of 4 ohms or more, as lower impedance speakers can damage the unit. Caution: q Before connecting the speakers to the unit, con- nect the speaker wires to the speakers first. Then, connect the speaker wire to the terminals on the unit. q Connect the speakers to the main unit, and then use the system. If any of the speakers is not connected, the main unit or the speakers may malfunction or may be damaged. Notes: q Connect the black wire to the minus (-) terminal, and the red wire to the plus (+) terminal. q Do not mix the right channel and left channel wiring when connecting the speakers to the unit. q Do not let bare speaker wires touch each other as this may damage the amplifier and/or speakers. 6
