mow treammuirefersoo• Usable Cassettes and Pia This section shows you the usable cassettes and playback modes with your camcorder. Usable Cassettes Use standard 8mm format tape for recording. You cannot use Hi8 tape with this unit. When You Play Back The playback mode (SP or LP) is selected automatically according to the format in which the tape has been recorded. The quality of the recorded picture in the LP mode, however, will not be as good as that in the SP mode. AFM HI-FI stereo In the following cases, the sound will be in monaural. • When you play back a tape recorded with this camcorder on an AFM Hi-Fi monaural video recorder. • If you play back a tape with this camcorder that has been recorded on AFM Hi-Fi monaural video recorder. Dual sound Foreign prerecorded software You can play back a dual sound recorded tape. Set the HI-FI SOUND switch to "1" or "2". For details. see page 50. You may not be able to play beck foreign premcatled software because of the difference in the TV color systems. Maintenance Information This section shows you how to maintain the camcorder. Moisture Condensation If the camcorder is brought directly from a cold place to a warm place, moisture may condense inside the camcorder, on the surface of the tape, or on the lens. In this condition, the tape may stick to the head drum and be damaged or the unit may not operate correctly. To prevent possible damage under these circumstances, the camcorder is furnished with moisture sensors. However, take the following precautions. Inside the unit If moisture condenses Inside the camcorder, the tt Indication inside the viewfinder and in the display window flashes. When the cassette is inserted, the e indication also flashes. Usable
Cassettes
Use
standard
8mm
format
tape
for
recording.
You
cannot
use
Hi8
tape
with
this
unit.
When
You
Play
Back
AFM
HI-FI
stereo
Dual
sound
Foreign
pre-
recorded
software
difference
in
the
TV
color
systems.
The
playback
mode
(SP
or

This
section

how

maintain

Moisture
Condensation
Inside
the
unit
If
the
camcorder
is
