Hooking Up the System Notes on Connection • Turn off the power to each unit before making connections. Connect the AC power cord last. • Be sure to insert the plugs firmly into the jacks. Loose connections may cause hum or noise.; • Leave a little slack in the connecting cord to allow for inadvertent shock or vibration. • Cord plugs and jacks are color coded: Red plugs and jacks are for the right channel (R) and white ones for the left channel (L). Connecting an Amplifier LINE OUT __J to an AC outlet Speaker system Using DIGITAL OUT (OPTICAL) When connecting to an amplifier or D/A converter with OPTICAL IN, connect the OPTICAL IN and the DIGITAL OUT (OPTICAL) on the player with the POC-15 Audio Fiber Optical Cable (not supplied). Take off the cap Plug in firmly Amplifier SPEAKER GOO 00 00 Fl 0 00 00 00 0! 0 00. CD to an AC outlet Notes on DIGITAL OUT (OPTICAL) • When using the DIGITAL OUT (OPTICAL), fade out, fade in and time fade functions do not work. • Noise may occur when playing non-music discs. 5
