Using the Sleep Timer You can set the receiver to turn off automatically at a specified time. Use the remote for the operation. Press SLEEP repeatedly while the power is on. Each time you press SLEEP, the display changes cyclically as follows: 2:00:00 t 1:30:00 t 1:00:00 t 0:30:00 t OFF While using Sleep Timer, "SLEEP" lights up in the display. Tip To check the remaining time before the receiver turns off, press SLEEP while the power is on. The remaining time appears in the display. Selecting the speaker system Other Operations Selecting the front speaker system Set the SPEAKERS FRONT switch according to the front speakers you want to drive. Set to A B A+B* OFF** To select The speakers connected to the SPEAKERS FRONT A terminals. The speakers connected to the SPEAKERS FRONT B terminals. The speakers connected to both the SPEAKERS FRONT A and SPEAKERS FRONT B terminals (parallel connection). No speaker output. (All the sound output from SPEAKERS and PREOUT jacks are turned off.) * When the IMPEDANCE SELECTOR is set to "8W", connect speakers with a nominal impedance of 16 ohm or higher. When the IMPEDANCE SELECTOR is set to "4W", connect the speakers with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms or higher. **When you want to turn off the sound output from SPEAKERS jacks while turning on the sound output from PREOUT jacks, set the SPEAKERS FRONT switch to "A", "B" or "A+B", then set "OUTPUT" in the SPEAKER SET UP menu to "PREOUT ONLY" (page 43). Selecting the surround speaker system Set the SPEAKERS SURROUND switch according to the surround speakers you want to drive. Set to A B To select The speakers connected to the SPEAKERS SURROUND A terminals (7.1 channel). The speakers connected to the SPEAKERS SURROUND B terminals (5.1 channel).
