Setting Up the Remote for On-Screen Control Registering Audio and Video Components You must register the IR code of your audio/video component to control your component using the onscreen display. IR code registration is unnecessary in the following case If your audio / video component is a Sony product that can be controlled by an infrared remote, and it is connected to the jacks shown in the following table, you do not need to register the IR code. Notes • If your VCR has a COMMAND CODE selector switch (for VTR1, VTR2, or VTR3), set the switch to- the applicable setting. If your VCR has a built-in StarSight tuner, you must set the COMMAND CODE selector switch to VTR 3. • If your CD changer has a COMMAND MODE selector switch (for CD 1, CD 2, or CD 3), normally it should he set to "CD 1." However, if your CD changer has VIDEO OUT terminals, set the command mode to "CD 2" or "CD 3" ("Cl) 3" should be used only when making CONTROL-Al connections).
