English ► Clean the lawn mower. 18 Transporting the Lawn Mower 18.1 Lawn Mower WARNING ■ To reduce the risk of injury from loss of control and blade contact, never carry or transport your lawn mower with the mowing blade mov‐ ing or the engine running, 5.7.5. Shut off the engine, remove the spark plug boot and ensure the mowing blade has stopped before lifting or carrying the lawn mower, 5.7.5. WARNING ■ During transport, gasoline may leak and cause contamination and damage. Make sure that the tank cap is closed securely and that the lawn mower cannot tip over. ► Shut off the engine, 12.1. To push the lawn mower: ► Push the lawn mower forward slowly and in a controlled manner. To carry the lawn mower: ► Wear protective gloves. ► Remove the grass bag, 8.3.3. ► The lawn mower should be held by one per‐ son with both hands on the transport han‐ dle (1) and by another person with both hands on the handle (2). ► Lift and carry the lawn mower in pairs. To transport the lawn mower in a vehicle: ► Secure the lawn mower in a standing position on all four wheels so that it cannot tip over or roll during transport. 22 18 Transporting the Lawn Mower 19 Storing the Lawn Mower 19.1 Storing the Lawn Mower WARNING ■ Store the lawn mower indoors in a dry, secure place that cannot be accessed by children or other unauthorized users, 5.5. WARNING ■ If the starter handle is pulled out when the spark plug boot is removed, sparks may escape to the outside. Sparks can cause fires and explosions in easily combustible or explosive environments. Persons can be seriously injured or killed and property damage can occur. - Hold the spark plug boot away from the spark plug opening. ► Shut off the engine and allow it to cool down. ► Remove the spark plug boot. ► Store the lawn mower so that the following conditions are met: - The lawn mower is out of reach of children. - The lawn mower is clean and dry. - The lawn mower cannot tip over. - The lawn mower cannot roll away. If the lawn mower is stored for more than 3 months: ► Drive the fuel tank empty. ► Have the fuel tank cleaned by an authorized STIHL servicing dealer. ► Change the engine oil as specified in the engine instruction manual. ► Unscrew the spark plug. ► Pull out and return the starter handle several times. ► Screw in the spark plug and tighten it firmly. 20 Cleaning 20.1 Stand the Mower on End WARNING ■ To avoid unintentional gasoline leakage, do not stand the lawn mower on end for more than 30 minutes. ► Drain the fuel tank. ► Remove the spark plug boot. ► Place the lawn mower on a level surface. ► Remove the starter handle from the cable guide. ► Remove the grass bag, 8.3.3. 0478-111-8602-A

WARNING
