TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE If you have followed the instructions contained in this manual and have difficulty in operating your unit, locate the SYMPTOM in the left column below. Check the corresponding POSSIBLE CAUSE and CORRECTIVE ACTION columns to locate and remedy the problem. MAINTENANCE CABINET CLEANING * Wipe the front panel and other exterior surfaces of the unit with a soft cloth immersed in lukewarm water and wrung dry. Never use a solvent or alcohol. Do not spray insecticide liquid near the unit. Such chemicals may cause damage and discoloration to the exposed surfaces. VCR HEAD CLEANING * Picture playback may become blurred or interrupted while the TV program received is clear. This does not mean that the recorded program has been erased. Dirt accumulated on the head after long periods of use causes this problem. Head cleaning requires highly technical skill. Clean heads only when symptom occurs. Bring the unit to your nearest Service Center for a complete cleaning of the heads and cassette compartment. SERVICING Should your unit become inoperative, do not try to correct the problem by yourself. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Switch power off, unplug the power cord, and take the unit to your nearest Service Center for servicing. -28-
