TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE If you have followed the instructions contained in this manual and have difficulty in operating your unit, locate the SYMPTOM in the left column below. Check the corresponding POSSIBLE CAUSE and CORRECTIVE ACTION columns and remedy the problem. SYMPTOM No power. No picture and sound. Sound OK; poor picture. Picture OK; poor or no sound. Picture is poor on playback. Noise in picture on playback. POSSIBLE CAUSE ♦ Power cord is not connected. ♦ Power is turned off. ♦ TV is not plugged into an active AC outlet. ♦ Antenna is not connected. ♦ No channel in memory. ♦ Direction or condition of antenna is not good. ♦ Picture control is not good. ♦ Interconnecting cable is connected to another source. ♦ Volume control on remote control unit or set is in minimum position. ♦ MUTE button on the remote control unit is in the ON position. ♦ The TRACKING control is not set to best position. ♦ Video head is dirty. CORRECTIVE ACTION ♦ Connect power cord to AC outlet. ♦ Press POWER button on. ♦ Plug power cord into an active AC outlet. ♦ Check antenna connection. ♦ Program tuner's memory. ♦ Adjust direction or replace antenna. ♦ Adjust picture controls. ♦ Connect incoming antenna directly to the television. ♦ Adjust volume control on remote control unit or set. ♦ Press MUTE button. ♦ Adjust TRACKING control for better picture. ♦ Head cleaning is necessary, consult the nearest Funai Authorized Service Center. ♦ Wait until DEW goes off, then proceed with operation. ♦ Make sure the AC cord is connected to an AC outlet. ♦ Check the batteries of infrared Remote Control. - 24 -
