Getting Started Adding external devices 51 Adding external devices NOTE Before adding external devices, Toshiba recommends setting up your software. See "Setting up your software" on page 49. After starting your computer for the first time you may want to: ❖ Add more memory (see "Adding memory (optional)" on page 58). ❖ Connect a mouse (see "Connecting a mouse" on page 73). ❖ Connect a full-size keyboard (see "Connecting a keyboard" on page 136). ❖ Connect an external monitor (see "Using an external monitor" on page 136). ❖ Connect a local printer (see "Connecting a printer" on page 74). ❖ Install PC Cards (see "Using PC Cards" on page 140). Connecting the AC adapter Your computer requires power to operate. Use the power cord/ cable and AC adapter to connect the computer to a live electrical outlet, or to charge the computer's battery. To connect AC power to the computer: 1 Connect the power cord/cable to the AC adapter.
