Page 82 highlights

33-22 Setting up network servers Installing the Fiery SI as a PostScript printer The first step in creating a printer is installing the Windows NT PostScript printer driver and the Fiery SI PPD (PostScript printer description), which gives your applications access to some copier or printer features. The installation instructions in Getting Started can be used for every workstation that will print directly and independently to the Fiery SI. However, if you are an administrator running Windows NT Server or Windows NT Workstation, you can share a printer you created with clients on the network. When a printer is shared, clients who are not able or are not given permission to establish an independent network connection to the Fiery SI have to print through the server. TO INSTALL THE FIERY SI AS A SHARED WINDOWS NT POSTSCRIPT PRINTER: 1. On the computer acting as a print server to network clients, install the printer driver and printer file as described for Windows NT clients in "Setting up Windows NT Printing" in Getting Started. This entails creating an installation floppy disk, and using it together with the Windows NT Installation CD to install the Windows NT PostScript printer driver and the Fiery SI PPD. 2. In the Create Printer dialog box, check Share this printer on the network. (Name of driver you installed) (Name you gave to the printer) Enter a share name here 3. Enter the Share name of the printer. Use a name that indicates the Fiery SI queue if you wish to publicize that information.
