FM/AM TUNING FM/AM TUNING Automatic and manual tuning There are 2 tuning methods; automatic and manual. Automatic tuning is effective when station signals are strong and there is no interference. ■ Automatic tuning STANDBY /ON PHONES SPEAKERS A B SILENT CINEMA (U.S.A. model) VOLUME PRESET/TUNING SEARCH MODE EDIT FM/AM XM A/B/C/D/E CATEGORY NEXT l PRESET/TUNING/CH h LEVEL STRAIGHT EFFECT TONE CONTROL l PROGRAM h BASS/TREBLE INPUT MODE MEMORY MAN'L/AUTO FM INPUT TUNING MODE DISPLAY AUTO/MAN'L MONO MULTI CH INPUT VIDEO AUX VIDEO L AUDIO R 3 Press TUNING MODE (AUTO/MAN'L MONO) so that the AUTO indicator lights up in the front panel display. TUNING MODE DISPLAY AUTO/MAN'L MONO AUTO Lights up If a colon (:) appears in the front panel display, tuning is not possible. Press PRESET/TUNING (EDIT) to turn the colon (:) off. PRESET/TUNING SEARCH MODE EDIT 32 4 1 3 1 Rotate INPUT to select TUNER as the input source. INPUT Front panel 2 Press FM/AM to select the reception band. "FM" or "AM" appears in the front panel display. FM/AM FM or AM VCR V-AUX SP A DTV/CBL DVD MD/CD-R TUNER AUTO TUNED 4 Press PRESET/TUNING/CH l / h once to begin automatic tuning. Press h to tune into a higher frequency, or press l to tune into a lower frequency. l PRESET/TUNING/CH h LEVEL VCR V-AUX SP A DTV/CBL DVD MD/CD-R TUNER AUTO TUNED When tuned into a station, the TUNED indicator lights up and the frequency of the received station is shown in the front panel display. 34
