DOORS WARNING Always have the doors locked while driving. Along with the use of seat belts, this provides greater safety in the event of an accident by helping to prevent persons from being thrown from the vehicle. This also helps keep children and others from unintentionally opening the doors, and will help keep out intruders. Before opening any door, always look for and avoid oncoming traffic. Do not leave children unattended inside the vehicle. They could unknowingly activate switches or controls. Unattended children could become involved in serious accidents. If your vehicle is equipped with an Intelligent Key system, refer to "Intelligent Key system" later in this section. SPA1442A (where the key can only be removed and inserted) and turning it to the rear again within 5 seconds will unlock all doors. (including the lift gate) and fuel-filler door. OPENING AND CLOSING WINDOWS WITH THE KEY The driver's door key operation allows you to open and close the front windows simultaneously. To open the windows, turn the driver's door key cylinder to the rear of the vehicle for longer than 1 second. The door is unlocked and the window keeps opening while turning the key. This function can also be performed by pushing and holding the door UNLOCK button of the Intelligent Key. Refer to "Intelligent remote keyless entry system" later in this section. To close the windows, turn the driver's door key cylinder to the front of the vehicle for longer than 1 second. The door is locked and the window keeps closing while turning the key. LOCKING WITH KEY (Driver's door only) The power door lock system allows you to lock or unlock all doors simultaneously. Turning the driver's door key lock with the metal key (master key, mechanical key, valet key and wallet key) toward 1 the front of the vehicle k will lock all doors. the front of the vehicle

Turning the driver’s door key one time
to the rear of the vehicle

lock the driver’s door. From that posi-
tion,
returning
the
key
to
neutral
(where the key can only be removed
and inserted) and turning it to the rear
again within 5 seconds will unlock all
doors. (including the lift gate) and
fuel-filler door.
