PARKING BRAKE If the lever cannot be moved out of P (Park), have an INFINITI dealer check the automatic transmission system as soon as possible. SSD0540 SPA2126 Shift lock release If the battery charge is low or discharged, the selector lever may not be moved from the P (Park) position even with the brake pedal depressed. To move the selector lever, apply the parking brake, depress the brake pedal, and push the shift lock release button. The selector lever can be moved to N (Neutral). This allows the vehicle to be moved if the battery is discharged. To apply: Fully depress the parking brake pedal. To release: 1. Firmly apply the foot brake. 2. Depress the parking brake pedal and the parking brake will be released. 3. Before driving, be sure the brake warning light goes out. 5-18 Starting and driving
