THEFT DETERRENT THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM To deter theft of the vehicle, this system is designed to give an alarm and keep the engine from being started if any of the doors, trunk and hood is forcibly unlocked or the battery terminal is disconnected and then reconnected while the vehicle is locked. The alarm blows the horn intermittently and flashes the headlights, tail lights and other exterior lights. The engine cannot be started because the starter circuit will be disabled. The indicator light will come on when all the doors, trunk and hood are closed and locked. When the front doors are locked, the system will give you a period of 30 seconds before it is set, during which the doors, trunk and hood may be opened. During this period, if any of the doors is unlocked, the system will be cancelled. 4. After making sure the indicator light starts flashing, you may depart from the vehicle. The system will automatically set itself after the 30-second period. The indicator light will flash to show the system is set. If any of the doors, trunk or hood is opened before the system is set, setting is interrupted until it is closed and locked. Never leave anyone in the vehicle when you set the system, because unlocking a door from the inside will activate the system. When the system is set SYSTEM ACTIVATION The trunk opener circuit is disabled, so the trunk must be opened by the master key. The system will sound the alarm and disable the starter circuit under the following conditions: S If any of the doors, trunk or hood is forcibly unlocked. Setting the system 1. Turn the ignition key to the "LOCK" position and remove it. 2. Driver and passengers get out of the vehicle. 3. Close and lock all the doors, trunk and hood. 80

Setting the system
1.

Driver and passengers get out of the vehicle.
3.
Close and lock all the doors, trunk and hood.
