4. BIOS SETUP Chipset Features Power Management 4. BIOS SETUP Hard Disk Power Down Mode [Disabled] (*APM feature) This field sets when to power down all the IDE hard disk drives in the system. The hard disks automatically wake up when any specified system activity is detected. Available options: [Disabled] [Stand By] [Suspend] Standby / Suspend Time Out (Minute) [Disabled] (*APM feature) These fields set the period of inactivity before the system is put to standby/ suspend mode. The system automatically wakes up when any specified system activity is detected. Available options: [Disabled] [1] [2] [4] [8] [10] [20] [30] [40] [50] [60] Throttle Slow Clock Ratio [37.5-50%] (*APM feature) This field determines the duty cycle of the STPCLK# signal when the system is in throttling mode. In other words, it configures the percentage by which the CPU slows down when the system enters power-saving mode. Modem Use IRQ [N/A] (*APM feature) Leave on default setting. Display Activity [Ignore] (*APM feature) Set this field to [Monitor] if you want the system to monitor any display activity that takes place while the system is in power-saving mode. Available options: [Ignore] [Monitor] IRQ3 to IRQ15 (*APM feature) Select [Monitor] if you want the system to wake up from power-saving mode when there is activity detected from the specified IRQ channels. Available options: [Ignore] [Monitor] System Thermal [Ignore] The onboard hardware monitor is able to detect the CPU and motherboard temperatures. Set to [Monitor] to use this feature. Thermal Slow Clock Ratio [50-56.25%] This field determines the duty cycle of the STPCLK# signal when the THRM# pin is asserted low. In other words, this feature sets the percentage by which the CPU slows down when the CPU is overheated. NOTE: To access this field, the System Thermal field must be set to [Monitor]. Power Button Function [On/Off] When set to [On/Off], the ATX switch can be used as a normal system power-off button when pressed for less than 4 seconds. [Suspend] allows the button to have a dual function where pressing less than 4 seconds will place the system in sleep mode. Regardless of the setting, holding the ATX switch for more than 4 seconds will power off the system. NOTE: This field is only effective in APM OS system. Available options: [On/Off] [Suspend] 4. Power Management
