Step 4: Configuring your Belkin Wireless Cable/DSL Router (the Router) for connection to the Internet Accessing the Web Based Setup Utility By now, you should have the information about your Internet Service Provider written on the worksheet at the beginning of this manual. Please have it handy as you go through this procedure. Your Router is equipped with a setup utility that is 'web-based', which means that you will use your Internet browser to do the setup. To access the Router's setup utility use your web browser (either Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator). 1. Using the computer that was originally connected directly to the Cable/DSL modem, launch your browser. When your browser launches, it will attempt to find your home page. In some cases, the router will be able to connect to the Internet without any further setup. If your home page is displayed in the browser, then no further setup is needed. You can begin surfing the net, or continue on to learn how to configure the router. If a message pops up in the browser stating that the page could not be found, this is normal. Please go to the next step. Note: You can access the setup utility from any computer on the network, however, use the original computer for this procedure at this time. 2. In the address bar, type the following address: 192.168.2.1. 37
