Symptom, Cause/solution The needle is not appropriate for the thread you are using. The upper thread tension is too tight. The thread is tangled, for example, in the bobbin case. The needle is turned, bent or the point is dull. The needle is not installed properly. The area around the opening in the needle plate is scratched. This is not a scratch.
