If the memory card already contains image files, the consecutive file number will be assigned. The camcorder memorizes the file number of the last image and assigns the consecutive file number to the next image, even when a new memory card is inserted. (If a higher file number already exists on the memory card, the consecutive number will be assigned.) There will be no duplication of file numbers. This is useful for organizing images on a computer.
