Calibrating the Printer Colors If your printed colors are not what you expect, you may want to calibrate the printer colors. This function is used to compensate for differences in intensity between various video monitors. When you click on the Calibrate the Printer Colors box, you see this screen: Maintaining the Printer You can select a gamma value of 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8, 2.0, or 2.2. The higher gamma values result in more contrast between light and dark colors. Saving Power To save power, you can automatically turn off the printer if it is idle for a specified period of time. When you click the Save Power box, you see this screen: Chapter 4 Click on the Save Power drop-down list to select Disabled, after 10 minutes, after 30 minutes, or after 60 minutes. Sending a print job to the printer automatically turns the printer back on. Maintaining the Printer 4-7
