d: Program AE The camera automatically sets the shutter speed and aperture to suit the subject's brightness. This is called Program AE. * stands for Program. * AE stands for Auto Exposure. 1 Set the Mode Dial to . 2 Focus on the subject. Look through the viewfinder and aim the AF point over the subject. Then press the shutter button halfway. X When focus is achieved, the focus indicator in the viewfinder will light up (in One-Shot AF mode). X The shutter speed and aperture will be set automatically and displayed in the viewfinder and on the LCD panel. 3 Check the display. The standard exposure will be obtained as long as the shutter speed and aperture displays do not blink. 4 Take the picture. Compose the shot and press the shutter button completely. 146
