Turning on the Power If you turn on the power switch and the date/time/zone setting screen appears, see page 42 to set the date/time/zone. : The camera turns on. : The camera is turned off and does not function. Set the power switch to this position when not using the camera. Automatic Sensor Cleaning Whenever you set the power switch to or , sensor cleaning will be performed automatically. (A small sound may be heard.) During the sensor cleaning, the LCD monitor will display . Even during the sensor cleaning, if you press the shutter button halfway (p.49), cleaning operation will be stopped, and you can take a picture immediately. If you repeatedly turn the power switch / at a short interval, the icon may not be displayed. This is normal and not a malfunction. 3 Auto Power Off To save battery power, the camera turns off automatically after approx. 1 minute of non-operation. To turn on the camera again, just press the shutter button halfway (p.49). You can change the auto power off time with [52: Auto power off] (p.64). 40
