Shooting in Smart Auto Mode Shooting Movies Movies You can shoot movies with camera-determined settings, simply by pressing the movie button. Elapsed Time Prepare the camera for shooting. z Follow steps 1 - 3 on p. 48 to turn the camera on and set it to A mode, and then compose the shot. Start shooting. z Press the movie button. The camera beeps once as recording begins, and [zRec] is displayed with the elapsed time. X Black bars displayed on the top and bottom edges of the screen indicate image areas not recorded. z Once recording begins, you can take your finger off the movie button. Resize the subject and recompose the shot as needed. z To resize the subject, do the same thing as in step 3 on p. 48. However, note that movies shot at zoom factors shown in blue will be grainy, and the sound of camera operations will be recorded. z When you recompose shots, the focus stays the same but the brightness and colors will be automatically adjusted. 53

Start shooting.
Press the movie button. The camera beeps

Rec] is
displayed with the elapsed time.
Black bars displayed on the top and bottom
edges of the screen indicate image areas not
recorded.
Once recording begins, you can take your
finger off the movie button.
Resize the subject and recompose
the shot as needed.
To resize the subject, do the same thing as in
step 3 on p. 48.
However, note that movies shot at zoom
