Movie Shooting Shooting Mode Shooting The following movie modes are available. You can record movies with sound. You can select the recording pixels/frame rate and record*1. The Standard digital zoom can be used while shooting in this mode (p. 32). • Recording Pixels/Frame Rate: [ (640 × 480) 10 frames/sec.], [ (320 × 240) 30 frames/sec.] • PowerShot A430: Max. Clip Size: 1 GB*2 PowerShot A420: Max. Clip Length: 3 minutes Since the recording pixels are low, this mode is convenient for Compact sending movies as e-mail attachments or when the memory card capacity is low. • Recording Pixels/Frame Rate: [ (160 × 120) 15 frames/sec.] • Max. Clip Length: 3 minutes Color Accent You can shoot with all other colors, other than the color specified in the LCD monitor, in black and white (p. 42).*1 As with the Standard mode, you can select the recording pixels/ frame rate and record. • Recording Pixels/Frame Rate: [ (640 × 480) 10 frames/sec.], [ (320 × 240) 30 frames/sec.] • PowerShot A430: Max. Clip Size: 1 GB*2 PowerShot A420: Max. Clip Length: 3 minutes Color Swap You can change a specified color on the LCD monitor into another (p. 43).*1 As with the Standard mode, you can select the recording pixels/ frame rate and record. • Recording Pixels/Frame Rate: [ (640 × 480) 10 frames/sec.], [ (320 × 240) 30 frames/sec.] • PowerShot A430: Max. Clip Size: 1 GB*2 PowerShot A420: Max. Clip Length: 3 minutes • The recording time will vary according to the capacity of the memory card you use (p. 102). *1 you can record until the memory card is full (when a super high-speed memory card is used, such as the recommended SDC-512MSH). *2 Even if the clip size has not reached 1 GB, recording will stop at the moment the clip length reaches 1 hour. 37
