112 Locking the Flash Exposure Setting (FE Lock) Available Shooting Modes p. 222 You can lock the flash exposure so that the exposure settings are correctly set regardless of the composition of your subject. 1 Raise the flash. 2 In mode, press the button and select (flash on). 3 Aim the camera at the subject on which you wish to lock the exposure. 4 Press the shutter button halfway and press the button. • The flash will pre-fire and will display. 5 Re-aim the camera to compose the shot as desired and press the shutter button fully. To Release the FE Lock: Operate a button other than the control dial. The FE lock cannot be used when [Flash Mode] in the [Flash Settings] menu is set to [Manual].

You can lock the flash exposure so that the exposure settings are
correctly set regardless of the composition of your subject.
To Release the FE Lock:
Operate a button other than the control dial.
