Cleaning the Printer With routine use paper dust and room dust may accumulate around the paper output tray and other parts of the printer. Clean the printer periodically. Caution • To avoid personal injury from burns or electrical shock or damage to the printer during cleaning, do not use a ﬂammable solvent such as thinner, benzene, or alcohol. • To avoid personal injury from touching printer components, always unplug the printer before cleaning. • Do not unplug the power cord when the POWER light is on or ﬂashing. This may damage the printer. 1 Press the POWER button ( ) to turn the printer off. Check the POWER light and make sure that it is not on or blinking. 2 Make sure that the POWER light is off, then unplug the power cord from the power outlet. Routine Maintenance 299
