Configure the Video Window Layout You can place a video window anywhere in the viewing area by dragging it to the desired location. You can save the size and position of a video window in the Viewer as a layout. The following special layouts are also provided: • Dynamic layouts RM-64/25/9 Specify criteria, such as camera tags and events, to only display video windows that meet the criteria. You can also select a pre-defined dynamic layout. • Layout Sequences RM-64/25/9 Sequence through multiple layouts you have created at a certain time interval. Note When the Viewer launches, it displays the layout that was being displayed when the program last ended. A new layout with the name "Untitled" is opened the first time the Viewer is launched. You can save the layout with a name after you place a video window. Save the Layout After configuring the display and position of the video windows, follow these steps to save the layout. 1 Click [File] >[Save Layout]. 2 Change the layout name as required, and click [OK]. Note In the storage destination there are two options: [Shared Layouts] and [User Layouts]. Only administrators can save [Shared Layouts], however all users can access saved layouts. Layouts saved in [User Layouts] are not available to other users. Configure the Grid You can display a grid consisting of dots or solid lines in the viewing area of the Viewer. The video window has a neat and tidy appearance because it is displayed according to the grid. When a solid grid is displayed, the size of the video window can be adjusted to the grid. 1 Click [Grids] on the toolbar. 2 Select the type of grid. • [None] Do not display a grid. You can put the video window where you like. • [Alignment] Display a dotted grid. You can put the video window adjusted to the position of the dots. • [160x120] / [320x240] / [640x480] / [160x90] / [320x180] / [640x360] Display a solid grid with the specified size. • [Custom] Displays the [Custom Grid] dialog box. Note If the video receive size and video display size have a different aspect ratio, black bands may be displayed along the left/right edges or top/bottom edges of the video. To set a video window with 16:9 aspect ratio, set a custom grid where [16:9] is specified for [Aspect Ratio]. 124

You can save the size and position of a video window in the Viewer as a layout.
The following special layouts are also provided:
Dynamic layouts
Specify criteria, such as camera tags and events, to only display video windows that meet the criteria. You can also
select a pre-defined dynamic layout.
Layout Sequences
Sequence through multiple layouts you have created at a certain time interval.
Note
When the Viewer launches, it displays the layout that was being displayed when the program last ended. A new layout with the name
“Untitled” is opened the first time the Viewer is launched. You can save the layout with a name after you place a video window.

Note
