Selecting and Playing a Tone Changing the Octaves of the Keyboards You can change the ranges of the left and right keyboards in octave units from their initial default settings. This comes in handy, for example, if the initial default range is not enough when one person is playing the left hand part and another person is playing the right hand part. 1. While holding down the SPLIT button and the TONE/REGISTRATION button, press the keyboard key of C that you want located at C4 (middle C) of the left keyboard. • This changes the octave of the keyboard and displays the difference between the normal keyboard (when you are not in the Duet Mode) and the current setting. Example: Press the keyboard key of the leftmost C will assign the range shown below. Left keyboard Right keyboard C4 C5 C6 C7 C3 C4 C5 C6 (Pressed key) 1 octave higher than initial setting Unchanged 2.
