E-2 Upgrading or Replacing the Array Accelerator Accessing the SMART-2DH Controller To upgrade or replace the Array Accelerator, you must first remove the SMART-2DH Controller from the system. 1. Perform a normal system shutdown. 2. Unplug the server from the ac mains. WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the internal system components to cool before touching. 3. Open the server to gain access to the option expansion boards. CAUTION: Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage electronic components. Be sure you are properly grounded before beginning this procedure. See Appendix A for ESD information. 4. Remove the SMART-2DH Controller option board. Removing the Array Accelerator Board To remove the optional Array Accelerator daughter board from the SMART2DH Controller: 1. Remove the plastic stabilizing bracket (1) by pulling outward on the handles at both ends. Bend the bracket until the daughter board is released. The bracket will come free of the assembly. 2. Twist the latch (2) 90 to allow the standoff to pull through the SMART-2DH Controller board. 3. Carefully pull the Array Accelerator daughter board away (3) from the SMART-2DH Controller board, unplugging the signal connectors. Accessing the SMART-2DH
Controller
To upgrade or replace the Array Accelerator, you must first remove the
SMART-2DH Controller from the system.
1.
Perform a normal system shutdown.
2.
Unplug the server from the ac mains.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot
surfaces, allow the internal system components to cool before
touching.
3.
Open the server to gain access to the option expansion boards.
CAUTION:
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage
electronic components. Be sure you are properly grounded before
beginning this procedure. See Appendix A for ESD information.
4.
Remove the SMART-2DH Controller option board.
