CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES HOW TO REMOVE THE SIDE PANEL To help service the engine or the battery, each side panel can be easily removed. 1. Remove the screws that hold the back of the side panel (Figure 22) 2. Remove the large screws that hold the front of the side panel (Figure 23). 1. Remove the black cable from the negative (-) terminal (Figure 24) 2. Remove the red cable from the positive (+) terminal. 3. THE SIDE PANEL

To help service the engine or the battery, each
side panel
can be
easily removed.

screws
that hold the back of the

panel
(Figure 22)

charge
the
battery, do
not
smoke. Keep the battery away from
any
sparks. The
fumes from the battery acid can cause an explosion.

THE
BATTERY
1.
Remove the
battery
2.
Wash the
battery
with a solution
of one
gallon of
water
and four
tablespoons of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate). Make sure
the solution does not get into the battery cells.
3.
Clean the terminals
and the ends of the cables
with a wire
brush.
