Address Aging Address aging is the length of time the address will remain in the MAC address table. Follow these steps to change the address aging: 1. Highlight the address aging and enter a new value from 10 to 1000000. 2. Select Save and press Enter. Select Exit and press Enter to exit the menu. Software Update Menu The Software Update menu is used to update the software on the DES-5200. Software can be updated using either XMODEM or TFTP. XMODEM requires a direct physical connection between a PC and the DES-5200. TFTP requires a TFTP server and that you know the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the server and the complete path and filename. TFTP can be done over the network or from a remote location. Software Update Configuration XMODEM There are two options on the menu displayed in Figure 27. XMODEM is the default option. Download Mode Enables you to select the method for downloading firmware.
