Section 6 - Troubleshooting Why do WHQL certification messages appear during installation? During the driver installation, you may see WHQL warning massages. The PC-on-TV device drivers have received certification, but may be in the process of being re-certified for this latest version. Click Yes to these messages. Will the PC-on-TV device work behind a firewall? Windows® Firewall must be configured to allow the PC-on-TV device to access the Internet. If third-party firewalls are installed (such as Zone Alarm), they can restrict access to the PC-on-TV device. Either completely disable the firewall or configure it to allow FTP and HTTP traffic through to the device. Also make sure it allows complete network access to/from the PC-on-TV device application. If using a wired connection, make sure that all network connections are installed accordingly. 3. Verify encryption key settings for your wireless connection on your wireless router. 4. The PC-on-TV device is designed to connect automatically with a wired Ethernet connection. An IP address will be assigned by your router's DHCP server. Ensure that your DHCP server is enabled in your router's settings. For wireless connections, verify your SSID information. Video performance seems sluggish, what can be the cause? Some laptops have settings that bring down CPU performance when operating on battery power. When this feature is enabled (mostly through default setting), the frame rate is likely reduced and you will see degradation in transitions between images.
