6 Access the Console Ports You can access the S60 system directly through the console port at rear of the system (Figure 6-1). Access the RJ-45 Console Port (RS-232) NOTE: Before starting this procedure, be sure you have a terminal emulation program already installed on your PC. The RS-232 console port is labeled on the upper right-hand side on the rear of the S60 system. Figure 6-1. S60 Serial Console Port Connector Console Port For the console port pin assignments, refer to Table 6-1. To access the RJ-45 console port, follow these steps:. Step Task 1 Install an RJ-45 copper cable into the console port. Use a rollover cable to connect the S60 console port to a terminal server. 2 Connect the other end of the cable to the DTE terminal server. 3 Set the default terminal settings as follows: • 9600 baud rate • No parity • 8 data bits • 1 stop bit • No flow control Access the Console Ports | 35
