host assigns it with the default iSCSI name.
2.
Configure Dynamic Discovery.
Also known as SendTargets discovery. Each time the initiator contacts a specified iSCSI server, the server responds by
supplying a list of available targets to the initiator. It is possible to use either the Global Storage Discovery IP (GSIP) or any
of the iSCSI target IPs for discovery.
a.
In the vSphere Client, go to the ESXi host.
b.
Click the
Configure
tab.

Under
Storage
, click
Storage Adapters
, and select the adapter that you want to configure.
d.
Click
Dynamic Discovery
, and then click
Add
.
e.
Select
Scan Adapter
and ensure that all Target IPs are listed under Static Discovery.
3.
Port Bindings.
For additional information about Port Binding for iSCSI, see
VMware Knowledge Article 2038869 (Considerations for
using software...)
.
PowerStore operating system 1.x
Configure port binding for each VMkernel interface as described in the VMware vSphere documentation. See
Best
Practices for Configuring Networking with Software iSCSI
. For instructions on how to configure Port Binding, see
VMware Knowledge Article 2045040 (Configuring iSCSI port binding...)
.
a.
Select your iSCSI Software Adapter vmhba.
b.
Right-click the iSCSI Software Adapter vmhba and select
Properties
.
c.
On the
Network Configuration
tab, click
Add
for the VMkernel port that you want to bind and then click
OK
.
d.
Repeat the previous step for all iSCSI VMkernel ports that you want to bind.
e.
On the
iSCSI Initiator Properties
window, click
Close
.
f.
Rescan the iSCSI Software Adapter.
PowerStore operating system 2.x
If you are using a single subnet, follow the instructions for PowerStore operating system 1.x (above).
If you are using multi subnets, do not configure port binding as described in the VMware vSphere documentation.
4.
On the PowerStore UI, create a host object and set the initiator type to VMware.
Jumbo Frames
Configure end-to-end Jumbo Frames for optimal performance.
When using iSCSI with ESXi hosts and PowerStore, it is recommended to configure end-to-end Jumbo Frames (MTU=9000) for
optimal performance. Ethernet frames are larger than the standard frame size of 1500 bytes (for IPv4) or 1280 bytes (for IPv6).
