Cleaning the Scanner To keep your scanner operating at its best, you should clean it periodically. Before cleaning it, turn the scanner off and unplug the power cable. Then clean the outside with mild detergent diluted in water. If the glass of the document table gets dirty, clean it with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. If grease or other hard-to-remove material gets on the glass, remove it with a small amount of glass cleaner on a soft lint-free cloth. Wipe off any remaining moisture with a dry lint-free cloth.
