If you need to recover software that did not come pre-installed on your system, you need to follow that software's installation instructions. To recover specific drivers and software: 1 Click (Start), All Programs, then click Gateway Recovery. The Gateway Recovery Center opens. 2 Click on the appropriate recovery option, then follow the on-screen instructions. Recovering using Microsoft System Restore Microsoft System Restore periodically takes "snapshots" of your system settings and saves them as restore points. In most cases of hard-to-resolve software problems, you can return to one of these restore points to get your system running again. To restore using Microsoft System Restore: 1 Click (Start), Control Panel, System and Maintenance, then click Backup and Restore Center. The Backup and Restore Center opens. 69

Recovering specific files and software
You can perform a partial recovery by recovering specific files,
such as device drivers and most pre-installed software. If you
need to recover software that did not come pre-installed on

Microsoft System Restore periodically takes “snapshots” of
