5-2 Compaq Console Management Controller User Guide Troubleshooting During Startup If problems occur when starting the Compaq CMC, select the appropriate symptom for possible causes and actions. Table 5-1 Troubleshooting Guide (CMC Startup) Description of Fault Symptom The CMC fails to function after power up. Connected sensors are not recognized by the CMC. Alarm signals are only indicated on the CMC but not at the console management. There is no shock alarm, despite the presence of vibrations. Intrusion alarms do not activate when door is opened. Faults are not reported although sensors are connected. The interface LEDs are not giving any signals. Solution Check the AC power connection. Make sure unit is On. Make sure sensor is connected to correct port on the rear of the CMC. Check the cables to the sensors for cable breaks. If applicable, check the power supply to the sensors. Verify network connection is correctly installed. Verify the correct IP address is programmed into the unit. Contact network administrator. Use software to adjust sensitivity. See Chapter 4. Verify intrusion magnetic switches are properly installed. Verify sensors connected to the correct port on the rear of the unit. Check the sensors for correct installation. Verify that sensors are connected to the proper port on the rear of the unit. Check the connection to the network. Contact network administrator.
