Chapter 1 Basic System Commands show running-config diff Send comments to [email protected] show running-config diff To display the differences between the running configuration and the startup configuration, use the show running-config diff command. show running-config diff Syntax Description This command has no arguments or keywords. Usage Guidelines Table 1-7 describes the notations used in the command output. Table 1-7 show running-config diff Notations Notation Description Indicates ranges of lines where differences occur. The range of lines --- line1, line2 ---- indicated with asterisks (*) is for the startup configuration and the range *** line1, line2 **** indicated with dashes (-) is for the startup configuration. + text Indicates that the line is in the running configuration but is not in the startup configuration. - text Indicates that the line is not in the running configuration but it is in the startup configuration. ! text Indicates that line exists in both configurations but in different orders.
