Command Modes Interface configuration mode Command History Release 4.0(0)N1(1a) Modification This command was introduced. Usage Guidelines Fast transition (specified in IEEE 802.1w) functions only on point-to-point links between two bridges. By default, the switch derives the link type of a port from the duplex mode. A full-duplex port is considered as a point-to-point link while a half-duplex configuration is assumed to be on a shared link. Note On a Cisco Nexus 5000 Series switch, port duplex is not configurable. Examples This example shows how to configure the port as a shared link: switch(config-if)# spanning-tree link-type shared Related Commands Command show spanning-tree interface Description Displays information about the spanning tree state. 2-54 Cisco Nexus 5000 Series Command Reference OL-16599-01
